Green Circle Project launched at Hotel Yak & Yeti

A National Level Inception workshop on Green Circle program was conducted on 22nd July 2014, in Hotel Yak & Yeti, Dynasty Crystal Room in partnership with Hotel Yak & Yeti under the endorsement of Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. There were 76 participants from different corporate houses, banks, NGOs, INGOs and business houses. We had a 2 hour program sensitizing the participants regarding the Green Circle Program and initiate them to be members of our program.

Detail description of program:
The formal program started at 2:50 PM with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Dr. Krishna Chandra Paudel, Secretary of Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment with the chairing of the Chairperson of the ceremony Mrs. Bishnu Thakali, President of WEPCO, followed by chief guest and other distinguished guests; Mr. Varun Saraf, Owner, Hotel Yak & Yeti and Mr. Philippe Belhay, General Manager, Hotel Yak & Yeti. The program was hosted by Mr. Surendra C. Thakuri, Director Sales and Marketing, Hotel Yak & Yeti.

Welcome remarks were given by Mr. Philippe Belhay. He enlightened the participants about the necessity of the Green Circle project in present day where paper use has been inevitable in daily life. He also facilitated why Hotel Yak & Yeti was interested in partnering with Green Circle project. And he welcomed all the participants and asked them to join hands for a cause.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Paudel by lighting the Sukunda.

The inaugural session was followed by presentation session which has two phases where; first phase included the introduction to WEPCO and second included introduction to Green Circle. The introduction to WEPCO was facilitated by Mrs. Thakali where she described about WEPCO and its major projects including Green Circle. While second phase was facilitated by Mr. Thakuri, where the necessity of Green Circle was described and the benefits of being member was described. And during the presentation session we also provide the certificates to our current members. The current members are as follows:

And at the end of the session we had question answer session, where participant had enquiries about the project. The presentation session was followed by remarks session.

Varun Saraf, Owner of Hotel Yak & Yeti had a valuable remarks on concept of Green Circle partnership how it born in his mind after meeting Mrs. Thakali a year back during his visit at WEPCO. He also enlightened the importance of project with corporate and business houses and how they can contribute.

After Mr. Saraf, We had the remarks of chief guest Dr. Paudel, where Dr. Paudel had brief description on the need of the program; he enlightened participants about the current environmental problems and their adaptation and mitigation. He also described how the government, NGO and private sector can work together for a cause of environmental conservation. And the project was endorsed by Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment for a cause.
And the remark session was followed by high tea.
